In this context, the project „Climate Resilience for the Future of Viticulture” aims to support the sector’s adaptation through applied research, modern technologies and cross-border cooperation.

The project brings together partners from Romania and Bulgaria in a joint effort to develop sustainable viticultural practices, capable of responding to the effects of climate change on grapevine crops.

One of the important directions of research is aimed at integrating digital technologies in viticulture. The use of sensors, climate monitoring systems, agricultural management applications and data analysis tools can contribute to the optimization of vineyard work, reduction of water consumption, efficient use of treatments and increase productivity. These solutions allow winegrowers to make quick and well-founded decisions, based on information collected in real time.

In parallel, germplasm collection and stress response assessment of different grapevine varieties allow the identification of biological material with greater resistance to drought, high temperatures and other climatic factors. The results of this research can support the development of more resilient plantations better adapted to new environmental conditions.

Another area with major impact is the development of green systems for the protection and adaptation of grapevine crops. Vegetative curtains, ground cover, maintaining biodiversity and the use of ecological protection practices contribute to moisture conservation, reducing erosion and improving growing conditions for plants.

The importance of green systems is becoming increasingly evident in the context of climate change, as they offer multiple benefits: they reduce crop vulnerability, protect natural resources and support the development of long-term sustainable viticulture. In addition, the implementation of these solutions can create new opportunities for funding, innovation and collaboration between researchers, winegrowers and authorities.

By capitalizing on research and transferring results to the economic sector, the „Climate Resilience for the Future of Viticulture” project contributes to building a more resilient, more competitive and better prepared wine sector for the challenges of the future.

INTERREG VI PROGRAMME ROMANIA – BULGARIA Project code: ROBG00370 Project acronym: VitiClimRoBg-Hard Duration: December 2025 – December 2027 Total budget: 1,610,750.22 euros European Union co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund: 1,288,600.16 euros Programme priority: A greener region Specific objective 2.4: Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches […]

[1

post-433","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-anunturi
["GET
